Cars 3 is out now on DVD, so fans will love that there is a range of RC replica cars out so they can carry out their very own adventures in real life! Getting our hands on the RC Ultimate Jackson Storm my 7 year old couldn’t wait to whizz him around our house.
Opening him up we realised we needed 8 x aa batteries, 5 for the car and 3 for the remote, so make sure you have stocks to hand if you are buying this as a present. Once the batteries are in, you are ready to go! Just press the buttons on the remote and Jackson flies into action!
As a parent I love how sturdy the car and the remote are, the car especially is solid and doesn’t have just a flimsy shell for the car body like some, it’s solid and feels really good quality. The graphics and shape of the car are amazing, he really does look like he does in the film. There is loads of features on the controller, and it’s a good shape that even my 7 year old doesn’t find it too big for his hands but at the same time I can use it easily and don’t find it too small in my giant hands.
So the controller has lots of features…
So you can go forwards and backwards, and when you do the lights on him come on, but you can also turn each way too (when you turn its the back wheels that turn), this can send him flying 360! It also has a parking feature which sends him flying backwards to park. It has a drifting feature which does exactly as it says, you can drift him around the room. Pressing the start button he revs up moving a little, then shoots into action flying forward. There is a sound button which makes him rev up when you are going too. Finally, the smoking feature! There is a special tank underneath jackson which you can fill with water, put back in him and then just press the button to see him smoke from his wheels!
This is easily the best RC car I have laid my hands on, it’s sturdy, it works well on all surfaces in the house, including carpet. It has so many features that it keeps children (and adults..) amused for hours. Utterly brilliant!
