I have always been a great fan of Crayola products, from when I was a child drawing with my first crayons, right up to now. As a mum to four kids, Crayola is a brand I trust 100%.  When I found out they were celebrating their 100th anniversary with a launch of a new Adult Colouring Range, it was only right that I should get involved.

Adult colouring has hit the world by storm, last year they were featuring heavily on the Amazon Best Selling book list, and even supermarkets were getting involved selling the colouring books. Research shows that colouring helps to relieve stress, there is plenty of other claims made, but I was interested if I could see any benefit.

So I sat down at my kitchen table, no distractions of TV or music, and I had a good look through the 80 page book. The first thing that stood out to me was the quality, typical of Crayola, this book is good quality, strong, well bound with hard cover and back, and the pages are brilliantly thick.  I love that you get one colouring page on each individual page, so there is no marks or colour showing through from the other side of the paper. The designs included are vast, with something to suit everyone. There is flowers, shapes, patterns, mushrooms, leaves and so much more. The images included are from artists at Hallmark. Some of the patterns are very intricate, and some are a bit less, so depending on your mood you can find something to suit.

I also received a pack of 50 Coloured Pencils (RRP £11.49) and 12 Delicate fine line markers (RRP £4.49). What I love about these is the boxes are in the same theme as the book, it beats stealing the kids chewed pens and pencils which are normally beaten up on the nibs to boot. These pens and pencils are MINE, and they get put back in the box and kept nice, and it is lovely having something that is mine for a change! The pencils are in 50 shades, and I love them, the quality is great, with a steady nice smooth nib that flows colour perfectly onto the pages. The pens are bright and the nibs are so fine you can really get the details where you want it. Overall I am preferring the pencils at the moment, they just feel more fluent in my hands, no idea why though!

As mentioned, the pages are a dream to colour, and I can easily spend hours colouring in. Am I less stressed? Definitely. It is relaxing and having something to do in the evenings that do not include screen time or eating either for that matter, it is a winner for me. I am on a diet and evenings are my prime times to cheat myself with snacks, but my colouring keeps the thoughts of food at bay too.
