It might sound simple to many, but giving your child breakfast in the morning can really help them get a better education. But for many people, they are just not able to stretch that little bit extra for a box of cereal to give their children, or even sometimes they just don’t have time to get the children to sit down and eat. Kelloggs and the Centre of Economics and Business research have found that people are spending more money than ever on food shopping, but we are eating less. I am sure I am not alone in looking at the inflated costs of the every day items, wondering when did they get so expensive?! It seems I am not alone as the average food bill is set to increase by a whopping £357 by the end of 2016. This means that some children will be missing out on some meals, along with adults too.

You may wonder what difference a little bit of cereal may make to one child, and it can be hard to know, but this video sums it up great.

Research shows that 81% of teachers say hungry children are not able to concentrate, 75% also say lack of breakfast makes children lethargic and a quarter of all teachers have experienced children falling asleep in class due to lack of food or drink.

But you can help without even doing anything. Kelloggs has launched ‘Breakfast for better days’, it means that for every box sold, Kelloggs will give a 30g bowl to Breakfast programs, food banks and Breakfast clubs, that’s a whopping 15 million breakfasts being distributed. This means that you choosing to buy the Kelloggs brand, means another child gets fed too, good hey? Just choose Kelloggs with the band ‘Help give a child a Breakfast’ on the box.
