A New Year, A New Me!

As the New Year approached, my Facebook feed filled with details of my friends New Year Resolutions. There was everything from losing weight, to gaining weight. I am not really a fan of New Years Eve, I find the notion to watch a clock, well, a little lame in all honesty. I find the whole experience a big anti climax. I am also not the type to make resolutions, especially big extravagant ones that I will fail at within a few weeks. But I do like embracing new beginnings, making your life what you want and how you want it.

So my new years resolution is a purely selfish one, to make time for me. To make myself happy, which in turn will hopefully make the people around me happy too. This starts with spending more time in indulgent baths, and I hope at some point it will include a spa day too! A hot stone massage would go down a treat right now…

It also means new clothes, embracing my shape. I might not be 100% happy with my size, but then I look back to when I was thinner and I remember that I was never happy then too. So I will embrace what I have, and dress hopefully for my size. I love dresses, and I want to make more effort to wear them this year. I also want to wear more jewellery and even this gorgeous Marc Jacobs Critters Watch from The Watch Hut is the perfect pick me up.

I am also forcing myself to get my nails done, I love having nice nails but I find the actual experience of getting them done really tedious. Waxing is another, I don’t want to be the mum with the overgrown caterpillar eyebrows.

I think all of these things will not only make me more presentable, but will make me feel good, which in turn makes me feel happy. And we all know that when you feel happy – you can achieve anything!
