Classic Fuzzy Felt – Still Fun?

Sep 28, 2017 No Comments by

Fuzzy Felt is something I loved as a child, I loved being able to make pictures just by sticking the pieces onto the green board, and being able to change it as many times as I liked. The ability to create new ideas in my head, without the need of more paper or your favourite pen running out, it was a firm hit. Royal Mail must be a fan as much as me, as they have recently released a stamp collection which features 10 different iconic toys from the years gone by.

You can check out more about the stamps online here.

But how many of the toys are still available? Well Fuzzy Felt sure is! So how would it fair with a 4 year old who has the use of the 2017 technology, such as tablets and computers? Well we recently received a nice classic set of Fuzzy Felt on Safari.

Included inside is 4 different coloured sheets of felt, green, purple, red and yellow. As well as one white sheet of eyes. Each one has pre-cut shapes ready to pop out. There is also a green board included too.

I would suggest if you purchase this for a child, that you open the box before hand and pop the pieces out, some of them, particularly animal legs, are a bit delicate for boisterous fingers trying to get them all out impatiently wanting to create some amazing scenes.

Emma particularly loved the fact that this set comes with eyes! She has excitedly been giving all the animals eyes. She spent ages making some great fun scenes and thinks its hilarious that we can make them disappear so easily just by removing it as quick as it is to put it down, she has come up with a game of me having to guess which animal is missing from the board.

There is loads of different themes for Fuzzy Felt, we recently reviewed the Paw Patrol Fuzzy Felt, but there is loads more available at all good toy stockists. Check out www.johnadams.co.uk for more info
