Bemma is a huge fan of Doc McStuffins Toy Hospital on Disney Junior, it’s a fantastic show that is easily watchable by adults too. It features Doc who is a child but a toy doctor, and her toys come to life too. We have been following Doc McStuffins for a few years now, and the delight of the brand new series of Toy Hospital was a totally awesome move by Disney. Doc now has her very own hospital for toys, and this means there is even more action than normal.
Of course, alongside a TV show comes a toy line, and I am a massive fan of toys that help role play too. Role play is key to child development and learning through play is something I believe is hugely beneficial to all children. A positive reinforcement from Doc McStuffins is that she shows massive empathy for toys, especially the broken ones which she helps mend. I am sure that Emma has learnt empathy through the show, and she is a lot more keen when we got to the doctors or hospital now as it just isn’t a scary unknown place after seeing scenarios acting out on the program. It has definitely helped alleviate any fears here.
This Doc McStuffins Accessory Set is fantastic for having to hand for role play.
It features a syringe, otoscope and blood pressure cuff, a bandage and a sticker sheet too. It has a RRP of just £9.99, and Bemma has had so much play out of this set. I love the quality of the toys, they are not flimsy items, they are solid sturdy and even feature glitter. The bandage is plastic is so much better than fabric ones that tend to get lost and tatted. The blood pressure cuff has the pump just like the real thing, and although the arm band doesn’t pump up with air (thankfully!) it has the dial that moves just like the real thing.
We also have this Doc McStuffins Toy Hospital Role Play set.
This set includes some clothes so you can dress up just like Doc herself! It has a jacket, a striped top to go underneath, a glittery doc headband, stethoscope and name badge to boot. The quality of the jacket is brilliant, and the detail is great fun.
The RRP of this set is £24.99 but you get a great quality dressing up outfit that will transform your child into Doc!
