DC SuperHero Girls have landed!

I am SO pleased that DC SuperHero Girls have landed in the form of a toy range! For years now there has been many male superheroes, and my kids all adore them. But I adore the new addition of strong women who are fearless and have super powers, it reallty reinforces a strong female image that they don’t have to be the female being rescued by a man, they can be the superhero and rescue the men. After all, women are just as awesome as men. There is loads of content to go along with the DC SuperHero Girls, with new animated webisodes to watch online, TV specials, and made for video movies and lots more including Brooke’s favourite new app ‘Harley Quinn’! We received Poison Ivy and Wonder Woman!

My 11 year old daughter relates to her so much, her bio includes ‘Shy, awkward but genius’. She can summon plants, Pheromone fuelled talent for seduction, a power that is still unrealised. She hangs out with Harley Quinn and the two opposites are the best of friends.

She’s the leader, courageous, competent and competitive. She has super strength, she flies and is super athletic,. She also has bullet deflecting bracelets and the lasso of truth! She is still learning at life though, and it’s kinda nice to now she has a certain sense of naivety when it comes to teen things like gossip, drama and boys.

We adore the new range, they give great role models for young girls to look up to, strong female images are just what is needed in the tween world!
