Winnie-the-Pooh is an iconic figure in the world of childhood, I have fond memories of listening to the adventures in Hundred Acre Wood and my children I’m sure will have to.  But of course it is 2016 and the digital age means we have to many more resources available us to help benefit our children. So when I heard that Disney has partnered with Google to create an interactive three dimensional version of Hundred Acre Wood using Google Maps, well how could you not want to look?!

Hundred Acre Wood is aimed at parents with young children, for them to explore together. It’s so much more than a map though, it is an interactive world which includes games, stories, videos and activities which you can enjoy together.

Entering the site it asks for you location, you don’t have to provide this information but if you agree then it actually brings up your exact location to town/village and knows what the weather is like, for instance it came up with my location and said ‘It looks rainy today, would you like an indoor activity?’ when I clicked yes please, it brought up a game of shape sorting for us to do with all the favourite Winnie-the-Pooh characters. This is just one of many games on there for you to do. I also love the ‘Learn with Owl’ section which has the ‘Learn Colours’ game…

Included in the ‘Learn with Owl’ section is ‘Magical Bedtime Soundtracks’, which are a delight!

For the kids there is Tiggers Bouncing Games, which is home to games such as ‘Pin the tail on Eeyore’, ‘The Bee Tree’ and ‘Outdoor Fun’ to name just a few. I love that the tips along the way, my favourite has to be the Outdoor Fun which gives you suggestions of things you may not of thought of doing before…

A must-look is the Winnie the Pooh Milestones section, where you can find a wealth of information for those milestones which seem to come round so quick.
