I am a stationery lover, a geek when it comes to home office. I love nothing more than a gadget that makes my life easier in some capacity. So when I was introduced to the Leitz Icon, well it made everything just that little bit easier.
When you buy a printer normally, you have great big manuals to read, a million buttons to press and getting the cartridges in seems impossible, but the Leitz Icon is a different breed entirely. First up, you open the box and the printer is there, no assembly needed. You use one lead to go to the power supply (my plug socket) and one to go to my computer. But, it is also wireless, and can even be used with the battery pack too, meaning no wires at all!
There is a vast range of label packs to choose from, there is pretty much a label for everything you need. My concern with different sized labels and things is about installing them, but you literally open the flap and push it in lightly, the cartridges have their very own little chip which is then automatically read by the clever Icon printer. It then adjusts everything accordingly.
Postage labels is one of the ones that I use the most, sending off parcels an letters to people, with that professional look is satistying. To get my first set done I downloaded the Leitz Icon Software. It was easy to download and install, no having to sign up to anything and no having to be wary about any credit card details or such like. The software is fabulous. It is so straight forward, even my 5 year old can use it print out a million copies of his name to stick all over his body (true story!). You literally type in what you want it to say, press print and it pops straight out in a second (it actually can print up to 200 labels in one minute!). You can even print from your smartphone too. It has made my life so much easier, and now I have the opportunity to create so many things I couldn’t do before.
The Leitz Icon is a super intelligent, super useful piece of amazing equipment that makes life simpler, the big question is, why wouldn’t you buy one?!
