LEGOLAND is an awesome day out, it literally makes LEGO fans dreams come to life. As long term LEGOLAND lovers, we have seen the fantastic park grow and change into something even more amazing. This year is no exception, with the launch of ‘Heartlake City’ this year. Taking pride of place where the old ‘LEGO City’ was, it has had an incredible transformation!

First up there is the addition of a brand new ride ‘Mia’s Riding Adventure’, which is a fast paced ride that is sure to impress visitors who are 1.2 metres or more. I took to the ride, well the kids wanted to go, and quite frankly I liked the look of riding a horse, and I can honestly say it is impressive! First of all you sit facing out on each horse, a bar comes up behind you to keep you safe. You are then spun, but at the same time the whole platform moves round and up on the curved track, it’s not for the faint hearted but an awesome exciting ride!

Next up was the brand new LEGO Friends live action music show which takes place in the harbour. The show was incredible! The LEGO Friends are actual people who look just like the characters, they talk, they sing and they dance! There is a whole story and even a jetski, but what really makes it magical is the way the girls interact with the audience and put on such a fabulous show. Fear not though if LEGO Friends are not your thing, as the pirate show is also still showing throughout the day too.

But that isn’t all, there is a brand new Olivia’s House, which has interactive LEGO fun in each room. There is a soft brick section and even a screen which projects your image onto the screen in real time, but adds the addition of some super cool accessories. It also leads into the Heartlake City Shopping Mall which is filled with every LEGO Friends delight you could possibly think of. Finally there is the brand new Heartlake Park Cafe, which is perfect for catching a quick bite to eat.

Of course, you still have the whole of LEGOLAND to see and visit still, with it’s vast range of rides, attractions and restaurants, there really is something for all ages.

  1. It did look good although when we went through it was to get some food on the day after half term, which to my surprise was an inset day in lots of places, so Legoland was packed.

Unfortunately the cafe you mention didn’t have any food by 12.00, and the choice of drinks for children was non-existent. After queueing for 15 minutes to get to the front of the counter, that was the first we knew there was no food. I wasn’t happy – a sign outside might have been helpful.

I don’t think Legoland realised it was basically another school holiday day, because they ended up announcing opening til an hour later, and none of the snack stop stalls were open – no sandwich places, no ice creams. Disappointing really and glad I’d been given tickets rather than paying for them.

I’m not looking forward to having to always go in school holidays to places like Legoland from September though. I hate faffing with crowds, and waiting is a hassle especially with younger kids. But guess that’s my trips in future.
