Yes you read it right, The Very Hungry Caterpillar is 45 years old! The amazing Eric Carle first released the world famous book 45 years ago, and what a hit it has become! It is one of the most read children’s book in the UK, selling over 36 million copies worldwide since its publication in 1969 and translated into more than 55 languages.

I remember fondly as a child reading the paper back version, loving the holes in the book. The illustrations were cute and appealed to me massively. As I have grown up, it has stayed a firm favourite, and I couldn’t wait to introduce my children to the hit book when they were born. This was Marky, 4 years ago…
