As parents, we all want to help our child develop and grow, and, fortunately, there are plenty of educational toys out there which help make development that little bit easier. Children learn through creative play; it stimulates their minds and helps them to understand the world around them.

Have you ever watched your child play and seen that he plays with toys in a totally unique way? That’s really common and it means he’s experimenting and learning about how to interact with his environment. In fact, children often come up with ways of playing with toys that we adults hadn’t even considered!

The best kinds of toys for sparking that creative streak in your child and where the child is in control of how the toy is played with: A good example of a educational children’s toy is LEGO Chima The Lion CHI Temple 70010, which lets your child act out their own story in any way they choose. Unlike a jigsaw, which can only be put together in a certain way, sandbox type toys like LEGO and other blocks can be put together and played with however your child chooses!

Encouraging your child to use his imagination can help him gain confidence, increase his communication skills (because creativity is a great chance for him to explain what he’s doing and why) and equip him well for learning new skills. In addition to what we’ve already covered, another great educational toy for children is a musical instrument, as it can help your child to listen to and create their own music. Even babies can bang on a drum so it’s a creative activity you can start from a very young age.

As your child grows, so will his imagination. Something you could do with an older child is encourage him to write his own story based on a game he was playing with his favorite toy, or even starring his favorite toy character as the hero. Playing with educational toys makes learning fun, so children will want to play again and again.
