My children travel well, ever since they were tiny we have used the car regularly. They have always been really good in the car, and they know what is expected of them when we are out and about. Infact I am probably the worst one out of them all, I hate traffic and hate stupid drivers. Living near the M40 and M25, as a family we hit these roads regularly and traffic is a nightmare. So what do you do when you are stuck in traffic and the kids are getting bored? The holy grail of something exciting…but what? I have the answer!

Audio Books from Audio Go.

We were recently sent two titles to review, the much loved Mr Men, and the popular Little Charley Ber ‘Ready, Teddy, Go!’. Being audio book beginners, I wasn’t sure what to expect. My children have grown up in the digital age of iPads, iPhones and other iThings where they can watch TV on the go. But I don’t think it’s great for their eyes to watch them too much. The AudioGo CD’s eliminate my concerns. They are just discs to pop in the car stereo, and immediately the kids were listening intently. Not having any visual distraction is brilliant. Ii love the sound myself and it doesn’t drive me nuts like those singy clap along nursery rhyme CD’s.

Mark has taken to them so much he has requested we put them on his iPad which he listens to in bed.  Traffic jams are still pretty awful, but with quiet kids listening to the stories (and secretly enjoying them myself) it is far more bearable. In fact, I am going to be ordering the 10 year old his very own Harry Potter series!

AudioGo have a vast range of titles for all the family, check them out online at: http://www.audiogo.com/uk/

  1. I am going to recommend these to my friend, who has to travel up the M42 alot with a 3 year old and coming to to 18 month old. They are fine aswell, but often fall asleep which cause mayhem with sleep patterns if shes not careful.

The oldest loves to read and is a great listener, so these sound perfect. They both listen to CD’s, but sometimes it can be hard having to listen to the childrens CD’s for too long…..
