My 10 year old son Jordan has Autism and ADHD, because of this he finds it really hard to communicate with people in everyday life. He is often frustrated, and the fact he cannot read or write very well only adds to this frustration. However, we have recently found that despite his protests that he has no talents, he has been doing really great at drawing.  To help Jordan, and give him a confidence boost, I have decided to make a weekly feature where he draws a picture for us to share online. This all came about after I got up this morning to find this…

As you can see, he is copying one of his favourite Skylanders characters from a book…and this is the finished article that took about 15 minutes…

He is already thinking about what he can draw you all next week!

  1. He does indeed have a talent and it is drawing clearly, this drawing is brilliant. Being a drawer myself I know that drawing free hand can be difficult to get the proportions correct and he has it spot on. Well done Jordan, keep it up and I am looking forward to seeing your drawings.

  2. Wow!! What a fabaroo little artist you are Jordan!! My name is Andrea, I am 27 and I couldn’t have drawn that picture if I tried all week! You are very very good at drawing, in fact I think Mummy should get you some more supplies because you will have lots of fans once everyone sees your brilliant work. I can’t wait to see what you draw next week you clever boy! X

  3. Wow Jordan. Thank you so much for sharing this! Your drawing is wonderful! Please keep it up. You have a real talent there, and I can’t wait to see what you’ll have for us next week 😉 xx

  4. You’re truly gifted, Jordan! And for a bit of perspective, in the 1800’s, a very famous artist called Vincent Van Gogh was diagnosed with Bipolar. If he was alive today, he would be classed as autistic! Play to your strengths and you will go far – like he did! Can’t wait to see next week’s drawing x

  5. What a star – you should be so proud of yourself Jordan. There are lots of adults, me included, who could never be that creative and draw so well. Keep it up and who knows what could happen!

  6. wow what an amazing skylander drawing! I will be sure to show my son and daughter, Chloe is 9 and also loves to draw, I have a few of her drawings on my blog too.
Looking forward to seeing what you draw next week Jordan!
