Flair have some brand new Jungle Junction toys out this year and we were sent the Race Launcher Play Set to review.

Marky is a massive Jungle Junction fan, so was eager to get it out and start playing. Opening the box, there is assembly involved. But with clear instructions that even I could follow.

Assembly took me about 15 minutes, but that did include sticking stickers on as well. Meanwhile, Marky was happy playing with the Ellyvan and Crocker which come included with the set. Both characters have moving wheels, so can whizz along. There is no small parts to be broken off them, they are really robust.

Once assembled, the Race Launcher is quite large, larger than I expected. It measures over half a metre long.

Our Race Launcher was then ready for both Ellyvan and Crocker to race! There is a ‘Bobby’ (another character out of the Jungle Junction program) who rings the bell (ok, you have to push his arm up and it gently comes down over a matter of seconds and hits the bell) then it’s a race to use the two launch controls (hidden in the pipes) which causes the platforms on the top of the launcher to rise which sets the vehicles off down the track. There is a stickered palm tree ends which also has a chequered finishing line, and both vehicles come down with speed and roll off the end, all part of the fun!

I found the great thing about this is that you don’t need to use the launchers, you can just push the characters down too. Also it is compatible with other characters from the Jungle Junction range, so if you are lucky enough to have others you can do even more racing! The RRP of this set is £24.99. I think it would also be good value if you have two preschoolers or Jungle Junction fans, as there is plenty of space for two children to play and race each other with the characters.
