I had my first child almost 10 years ago, and I quickly realised that some things that I loved would become a distant memory. On that list was a full face of make up in the morning (how do you find time?!), wearing my favourite strong perfume (my son hated it and it couldn’t of been good for his airways) and wearing my beloved Tiffany jewellery that I had worked so hard to buy myself. Now some of these things can not be solved, and I spent many years going without some of my favourite things. So with my jewellery safely tucked away, I always felt almost…..then I found teething jewellery.

I was keen to put my new Jellystone pendant on and try it out for size, I was pleased to see the cord is a great length, especially great for breastfeeding and keeping the babies attention while feeding.
So is it jewellery or a teether?
That’s the really great thing, it is both! My son is forever grabbing jewellery from around my neck, but now he can grab this and not strangle me. It has a break away clasp which means when pulled it releases. It is also handy for when we are in the car and he is having a restless moment, I can grab it and pull. It is then free for me to pass him and let him play with it (supervised of course). There is no little bits which can cause babies any harm, no beads to detach, and no sharp edges. It is 100% baby proof, and we have tried it out ourselves to prove it!

The pendant is a matt material and therefore doesn’t attract dirt and fluff to stick to it, like I find soothers do. It can also be detached from the cord and washed in soapy water or even the dishwasher.
This Tuggables Organic Pendant necklace is also available in other fantastic bright colours too, although I love pink and think it goes really well with all the black clothes I wear and brightens up an otherwise dull outfit. The price is just £12.95 which I think is really reasonable.

For older children there is also a Junior range which consists of hearts and robots, especially great for children who might chew their hair or even their fingers. This provides a safe alternative. My son has autism and regularly chews his shirt collars, so a child safe necklace sounds fabulous!
