May 28, 2012 2 Comments by

Having adequate home insurance is very important for every person. Celebrities are certainly no exception. Over the years, many celebrities have suffered the tragic loss of their homes due to accidents or natural disasters. No matter where you live and how much money you have, there is no predicting when disaster will strike. So when looking for cheap insurance for your home use a price comparison site (like comparethemarket.com). Let’s take a look at some of the more notable celebrities who have lost their homes:
Richard Branson

The Virgin founder’s home on Necker, his £60 million private island, was completely destroyed when it caught fire that was caused by a lightning strike in August of 2011. The island, which is located in the Caribbean, was in the midst of being battered by Hurricane Irene when the lightning strike occurred.

Sabastian Bach

Hurricane Irene claimed yet another victim in the New Jersey home of the former Skid Row lead singer. As with Branson’s home, Bach’s home was a complete loss and was deemed uninhabitable by safety officials. Along with the house itself, Bach lost dozens of irreplaceable items in the disaster.

The blaze was caused by flammable spray sealer that was being used during the renovation process. Gibb bought the home in January of 2006 for $2.3 million. The house was notable for being the long-time residence of the late country music legend Johnny Cash, who lived there from 1968 until his death in 2003.
