>You must of been living in a cave if you haven’t seen a Snoozeshade before, they really are everywhere. Even celebrities are getting in on the Snoozeshade game, with them being snapped by the paps, but how useful are they in everyday life? Is it just a gimmick?
Snoozeshade kindly sent me a Snoozeshade Plus to try out with my 23 month old son Mark. Snoozeshade Plus is bigger than the standard Snoozeshade, enabling you to use it with your growing toddler. It also has another set of straps to attach it to the pushchair frame.
It came packaged inside a really small packet with a resealable popper, I was pleased to find from opening the packet that the Snoozeshade Plus is not one of those items that you take out of the packet and can never get it back in, it is just really compact when folded. It makes it the perfect travel companion as it is light and takes up hardly any room in the corner of your changing bag. Note the little velcro bits on the ties of the bag, this means you can also attach it to your pushchair!
Make no mistake, my son is a contender for the award of ‘longest toddler legs’, which are often left hanging off pushchair seats. So you can imagine how hard it is to shade him from the sun with the use of only a parasol. This is where Snoozeshade Plus comes in handy. As it covers the whole of Marks pushchair and enables me to attach it underneath his long legs, he isn’t restricted for room. It is easy to attach to any pushchair, it has velcro straps which you can wrap around any part of your pushchair. I tried it on my iCandy Peach
and Graco Symbio….
These are not small pushchairs by any means, yet there was plenty of room for Mark to move around inside, there is no fear of him getting claustrophobic.
The material of the Snoozeshade Plus is UPF50+, so you can guarantee your little one will be safe from the harmful rays of the sun. But the uses of Snoozeshade Plus don’t just stop there, with all the cold weather recently, the wind has been bitter. I found this the perfect opportunity to use the Snoozeshade to give Mark some protection.
Mark doesn’t normally nap during the day, but you can guarantee if he does that he will wake up very grumpy! When he fell asleep on the way home from nursery, I popped his Snoozeshade Plus on, it enabled him to be shaded from the elements as well as providing some darkness. The lookout window allowed me to check on Mark without disturbing him.
Mark slept for a whole hour and woke up the happiest I have ever seen after a nap!! The Snoozeshade Plus is pure magic!! I really believe it was a combination of it not letting any light shine in his eyes, and because it had protected him the wind and other disturbances around him.
The large zipped lookout section unzips to allow your child to look out, it is still shaded but it see through enough for little curious people to see what is going on in the world. Mark prefers to have this zipped up though, but I am sure if we went to the zoo or something equally fun, he would be desperate for me to open it so he can have a good look around!
Mark loves his Snoozeshade, it keeps him protected from the wind and keeps him snug, and with the handy lookout window, he can still watch what is going on in the world.
So back to my first questions I had about Snoozeshade, ‘How useful is it in everyday life?’. It is massively helpful, I wish I had bought one when Mark was born, this an amazing useful product that will come in handy so many times! And my other question, ‘Is it just a gimmick?’ No way! The Snoozeshade actually works, and more so than I ever figured possible! I love our Snoozeshade and this is a parenting must have, I shall be buying them for all my friends who have a new baby! A massive thumbs up for the Snoozeshade Plus!
