Saturday is normally a day of rest for me and our family, but this weekend was very different. We are pleased announce we are part of ‘The Digital Joneses’, what the heck is that I hear you say, well ‘The Digital Joneses’ has been set up in association with Trend Micro who is the global leader in network antivirus and internet content security software.

The Digital Joneses Project is an exciting new initiative launched in association with global security software company Trend Micro. We live in a fast changing world and digital technology enhances our lives but also throws up new challenges and needs that many families are dealing with for the very first time. The Digital Joneses will show how everyday families use the internet in their lives and the problems and issues they may face as a result.

Our first task as part of ‘The Digital Joneses’ was to travel to Reading for our very first meeting with the other families that had been selected.
Being early birds that we are *cough cough*, we arrived early and got our filming and photography out of the way first, which is great because I am the least photogenic person in the world, and Mr Blog by Baby is even worse than me!

I am sure you are dying to know what we were filming, well I can exclusively tell you that it was us introducing ‘The Parkers’ aka Blog by Baby. Our video is us telling the world who we are and why we want to be part of the program. With that out of the way we were free to chill out with the other families while nibbling some chocolates and sipping lots of coffee.

Just as it hit the afternoon, we were ushered by taxi to the Madjeski Stadium for some more typical Trend Micro hospitality.

A delicious lunch of curry and all the trimmings, as much beer as one man could drink (in Mr P’s case this was one pint of magners and a jd and coke, yes he really is a lighweight). What about the poor kiddies? Well they were showered with attention the whole day long by the fabulous staff who are in charge of ‘The Digital Jonese’. A yummy dinner arrived with as much juice as two little Parkers (and one big Parker) could handle. They were even treated to a visit from the London Irish Mascot ‘Digger’ who gave every child attending a present.

We stayed for the rugby match, which is something that we have never experienced previously.

Jordan was gripped! We went back to the hospitality suite to meet two of the players from the London Irish team

It was a fantastic day, a massive thank you to Trend Micro for being such stars, they are even fabulous at keeping children entertained too!! I cannot wait for our next Digital Joneses meet up 🙂
